2018-02-25 - Tra Que Village - Hoi An, Vietnam.

Located 3 km away from the center of Hoi An, Tra que (tcha wé) is a small farming community known for its fresh, clean and organically grown produce and as a supplier of nearly all of Hoi An's local foods.

Not really knowing what to expect from the village, we cycled there from Hoi An along a fairly scenic route through rice fields, winding rivers and the occasional relaxed water buffalo. We were met with lush greens, and best of all, an incredible smell of... freshness? I'm not entirely sure how else to describe it.

While observing the locals working their allotments filled with everything from avocadoes and kale, to vietnamese coriander and a whole host of other herbs, we had the most delectable fresh spring rolls stuffed with produce right from the garden in front of us.

Definitely one of the most memorable, relaxing and most importantly delicious areas of Hoi An.

My only point of discontent, is that despite trying to head back here, several times (at varying points in the day) I never got lucky with light! :(
